Invention development company, based in central Salisbury, seeks highly competent person with a range of skills including research, copywriting and project organisation.

The ideal candidate would have the ability to fully analyse new project ideas by investigating markets and appropriate technologies, as well as completing global patent searches. Full, on the job training will be provided for this. A technical mindset would be beneficial.

The role involves providing exceptional customer service and includes the selling of further services. The candidate must be articulate, confident and would ideally have some experience in sales. A superb telephone manner and excellent English language skills are essential.

Starting salary, dependant on experience, circa 20k.

We are an idea development company who specialise in helping inventors design, develop and prototype their ideas. We visualise product concepts and create professional presentations that demonstrate our client’s ideas in order to generate interest amongst potential licensees or investors.

You are a qualified product designer with a functional approach to design. Your ability to resolve technical design issues has probably developed from an inbuilt desire to take products apart and discover how they worked from a young age. You are excited about coming up with new and ingenious ways of solving problems and developing aesthetically pleasing concepts that meet our client’s requirements. You will appreciate the range of project work, the fast pace and the opportunity to work on front-end concepts across a range of markets, as part of a dynamic team of 12 designers. You will need 2-4 years experience in product design.

Product Designer / Prototyper

Prototyper [proh-tuh-tahyp-er] – noun: a person who devises and executes prototypes, esp. one who creates mechanisms, electronics, casings, and component parts, for works of design or concepts. Role includes: development of lash-up models; CAD modelling for prototypes, sourcing of components and assembly of pre-production models.

Not to be confused with technician with no design experience or designer without practical experience or mechanical understanding.

Must be able to demonstrate skills mentioned above in a professional portfolio. Successful candidates are likely to have at least 3-5 years experience of developing products and could expect to command a competitive salary. Basic electronics knowledge would be an advantage. Job is based in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

In return you will help by rendering products and scenes as Innovate have a bit too much extra work on at the moment! This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain valuable experience working a top class design studio.

The placement is unpaid but don’t let this put you off as you will gain an invaluable professional skill which could help jump start your design career. The standard of renders you will be producing by the end of the placement and the experience itself will make your cv much more appealing to future potential employers.

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking to recruit at least one graduate to join our design team at our Salisbury Studio.

You will need a 2:1 degree or higher in Industrial or Product Design, an enthusiastic attitude and clear creative flair. The job involves working on a range of projects so ideally you will have some mechanics or electronics background and certainly a desire to understand how things work and are manufacturered. Sketching, CAD modelling (inc. surfacing), photorealistic rendering ability and excellent graphic presentation skills are essential.

Fantastic opportunity for Product Designer with 2 years + relevant experience.

We are looking for an experienced, highly creative designer to work within our young and vibrant design team. Your advanced CAD modelling and visualisation skills (preferably Solidworks) will compliment your natural aptitude for resolving mechanical issues. You will have a thorough grasp of product engineering and basic electronic knowledge.

You will be highly organised and pragmatic with the ability to drive projects forward to completion in a tight time frame. The role will be client facing so the ability to justify your designs and build successful client relationships is essential. The job will involve developing a broad range of projects into viable working prototypes.
