We've got some great news about our client, Sharon McGillion - inventor of Pressie Pouch, through her perseverance with a great product, she has signed with a US company for distribution of her product all over the United States.
Pressie Pouch is a self sealing gift bag with the “to-from” label encompassed on the outside that negates the need for scissors or tape when wrapping a gift. You can read the original case study on the product here.
After working with Innovate to research her product and design it, she then used Innovate's presentation materials to showcase her idea to Invest NI, and was awarded an Innovation Voucher.
Since then, Sharon tells us that it has been a long process for her as she still worked full time during the development process. She has made great accomplishments so far in the process such as having her product sold in local retailers in the convenience, pharmacy and gift sectors; attending trade fairs and signing contracts with distributors, as well as getting herself on Amazon and Ebay through 3rd party sellers.
The real step up has happened recently after getting in touch with a contact through LinkedIn who helps people with retail distribution. The contact helped with approaching large distributors. After hard work from both parties, the Pressie Pouch has signed a deal with The Packaging Source who has over 10,000 independent retail accounts including gift retailers, mail order and catalogs, television shopping and select mass merchants.
This is fantastic news for Sharon and her great product, and shows that good things really do come to those who wait!
