Five Year 9 students from South Wilts Grammar School spent the day recently at Innovate Product Design as part of the “Working with Industry” programme which the school runs annually. The girls visited Innovate’s Salisbury Studio in Endless Street a couple of week's ago where they were introduced to the company, given a tour of the studio, and briefed on a project set for them – to design a collapsible, easy to use shopping trolley for a younger market.
The girls went away and worked on solving the problem and prepared a presentation. Innovate’s Kathryn Voce attended the presentation at South Wilts Grammar School on Friday afternoon where the girls presented the solution they had developed and explained the decision making process they went through. Innovate Product Design were extremely impressed with the quality of the students’ presentations, how well they worked as a team and their overall confidence. The girls were successfully selected to proceed to a final round of presentations this week, where the best group will be awarded a Cup.
