Innovate invited to assess student product presentations

May 19th, 2011

Last week, Innovate Product Design was pleased to be invited to assess the product presentations of some of Bournemouth and Poole College’s Marketing Foundation Degree (FdA) students. This course is delivered by Bournemouth and Poole College and forms part of Bournemouth University’s Media School.

Innovate’s experience in assisting individuals take products to market led to their expertise being called upon to form part of the panel to judge the presentations of the students.

Jay Short (one of Innovate’s client managers) was invited to sit in on the product presentations delivered by the students. These presentations formed part of the “Bringing Your Product to Market” module of the course and Jay listened to eight presentations from the students.

There was a diverse range of product presentations from the students and Jay was impressed with the quality of delivery under pressure.

“From our experience, it is not just the quality of the product development that you need to be aware of when taking a product to market. Companies are also interested in the confidence of the individual who has developed the product. If you do not appear confident to potential investors, then they are unlikely to have confidence in your product. The students delivered the presentations with confidence and there are genuinely some budding entrepreneurs amongst the group.” – Jay Short

Innovate would like to offer their thanks to Mike Plummer and the Marketing FdA students of Bournemouth and Poole College for their warm welcome and fascinating presentations.
